The Process

People always have questions as to how the shoot takes place, where it takes place, etc so I thought it best to put everything here for your convenience.

Each package covers a pre-determined amount of time, although a session might be slightly quicker than expected. This all depends on your dog and whether he's having his day or not (pun intended). A shoot is done when my memory cards are full and you and I are happy with the range of photos taken.

Where does the shoot take place?

At your home, during walkies through the streets, in a pet-friendly park, on the beach, or if its a horse, at the stable. Its your choice. Each package is only available with one location...for the moment. This may change and be available as an optional extra in the future. Should your park be a 2 min walk from your home, I'm sure we can make a plan should you wish to utilise both venues. Packages are not set in stone, so dont be afraid to ask!

What do you or I need?

This is simple, just you and your pet(s). You are welcome to have ready some toys, the leash, or even doggie clothes (so long as your dog doesnt mind, of course). I will of course bring everything I need, which is mainly my camera equipment, some treats (if purchased in the Extras), and an assistant.

What goes on during the shoot?

The first and most important part of the shoot is getting your pet(s) used to me and my camera. This is either not necessary (the overly-friendly types) or a slow, patient process (the shy types). I dont mind how long it takes, as its already worked into the shoot duration time. I'm happy when your pet is happy. So break out the tea/coffee and we can have a chat and I can get to know your pet(s) a little better.

Thereafter, the shoot commences and can be as tranquil or fun as you'd like. I encourage you to participate (maybe feature in a few photos yourself, eh) but if you're shy, I'm happy to help your dog find its "best angle" so to say while you sit back and relax. My experience in handling dogs, horses, cats, rats, birds, and even people comes in handy here. These photos are informal and fun, capturing what makes your pet your pet.

What about weather?

Weather does play an important part in the shoot. I prefer using natural lighting around pets, so should there not be sufficient light (maybe its an overcast/rainy day) then the shoot will have to be rescheduled (your deposit carries over). This is unfortunately out of yours or my control.
