How many place settings do I allocate to you during the reception? Why 2 DVD's and what's on them? How do I choose a package? How do I work out a rough price before I contact you? Tell me about the "Storybook Upgrade" Why are wedding photographers so expensive? I've got a pimple on my nose/a smudge on my dress! Will it ruin my photos? I have more questions! How many place settings do I allocate to you during the reception? Two please. I work with an assistant who is also there for a security measure when driving far distances and with expensive equipment as well as a second shooter during parts of the wedding. [Back to Top] Why 2 DVD's and what's on them? Your second DVD is supplied as a complimentary backup. I enourage you to keep the two DVD's in separate places in case of a fire, theft, etc. Due to so many contributing factors, I cannot guarantee replacement wedding photos after the wedding, which is why you get 2 DVD's with my packages. The DVD's include the edited photos from the wedding, and are not limited to the ones supplied in prints. The photos also include colour-splash photos, sepia, and black and white versions where possible. They photos are supplied in high-res (300dpi, printable) and low-res (72dpi, resized smaller) for web/email use. [Back to Top] How do I choose a package? Things to consider & include when choosing a package are: :: Number of guests attending. It's not fair to the photographer to book the Budget Package while having 250+ guests, and expect everything to be covered in the photos. It wont be possible and there will be disappointment. :: What you want covered. If the venue preparation is important, either select the Gold Package or discuss a custom package with me. :: Whether you want prints or a Storybook. With my packages, its either/or. You can either choose the prints or enlargements for the package cost, or opt for a Storybook instead and add the selected book price onto the base package cost. [Back to Top] How do I work out a rough price before I contact you? To work out a price, choose a package, add a storybook album if desired, include travel costs (if outside of Cape Town) at R3/km, and you have your price. Eg: You choose the Copper Package (R5000), your wedding is in Stellenbosch (40km x 2), and you'd like a Medium Landscape storybook upgrade (R2600). R5000+(40*3*2=)R240+R2600 = R7840. [Back to Top] Tell me about the "Storybook Upgrade" Storybooks are a wonderful way to showcase your wedding to friends and family. They are leather bound books with thick, hardcard pages reminiscent of a toddler's First Book. The layout and covers are designed by myself and the images are printed directly onto the pages. The book is hand bound by professionals and some of the books come with an option of a leather cover. You can see examples here. [Back to Top] Why are wedding photographers so expensive? Of course I cannot speak for all photographers, but the majority of quality photographers have spent many, many years perfecting their talent behind the camera as well as in front of the computer. Digital photography doesnt end at the click of a shutter, especially if the photographer is shooting in RAW. Quality photographers know how to best manipulate digital photos on their computer to get the best possible result. Like one would do with film in a darkroom, RAW images need to be processed on computer and this takes time (generally speaking a couple of days worth). Our editing time is factored into our package prices, as well as payment for assistants, etc. You should beware of photographers offering too much for too little. While it's not the case with all low-cost photographers, if they're charging so little they're probably not spending much time, if any, editing your photos afterwards. [Back to Top] I've got a pimple on my nose/a smudge on my dress! Will it ruin my photos? Not if I can help it! I do quality post processing and will happily remove any pimples, spots and smudges from your photos before you receieve them on DVD. Of course this is all within reason, and I cant remove Aunt Mary or Uncle Bob should they be not wanted in the photos afterwards. [Back to Top] I have more questions! If you have any other questions, please feel free to either call me or and ask. I will happily answer you as well as add it to the site for others in the future. [Back to Top] |
